Auden streams the music on your Synology NAS to your iPhone — at home or away, with no manual port-forwarding or fiddling. This page covers setup, common issues, and how to get help.

Getting started
- Make sure your iPhone and Synology NAS are on the same Wi-Fi for first sign-in (you can use it away from home afterward).
- Open Auden and tap Connect NAS.
- Either pick your NAS from the discovered list, enter your QuickConnect ID, or type the direct address of your NAS.
- Sign in with your DSM username and password. If your account uses two-factor authentication, enter the 6-digit code when prompted.
- Wait for the library to sync, then start playing.
Frequently asked questions
Auden can’t find my NAS.
Confirm the iPhone and NAS are on the same Wi-Fi and that you allowed Auden’s local-network permission (Settings → Auden → Local Network). You can also enter a QuickConnect ID or the direct address instead of relying on discovery.
Playback works at home but not away.
Away-from-home streaming uses QuickConnect or a direct/DDNS address. Make sure QuickConnect is enabled in DSM (Control Panel → External Access → QuickConnect), or that your NAS is reachable from the internet via your configured address.
It asks for a two-factor code.
Enter the current code from your authenticator app. This is required by your DSM account’s security settings.
Can I listen offline?
Yes. The free tier keeps up to 25 downloaded tracks. Auden Pro unlocks unlimited downloads, whole-playlist downloads, and background playlist sync. Manage storage in Settings → Downloads.
Where are my credentials stored?
They are stored in the iOS Keychain. Disconnect ends the current NAS session but keeps the saved password so Auden can reconnect. Forget Connection removes the password and local trust settings. If you separately enable Sync saved connections, password-only records copy through iCloud Keychain to your Apple devices. See the Auden privacy policy.
Does Auden work with CarPlay?
Not yet. CarPlay support requires an Apple-managed entitlement and is planned for a future release.
