Auden for iOS

Your music already lives on your own server. Auden plays it on your iPhone or iPad — over your network, with no streaming service and no account in the middle. Built for Synology first. Coming soon on the App Store as a free download with one optional in-app purchase.

Auden is Chhaya Digital’s product.

At home, or away from it.

On your own network, Auden talks to the NAS directly. Away from home, it reaches the same server over QuickConnect or a VPN, and it tells you which route it is using rather than leaving you to guess why a song will not start.

Your server credentials are held in the iOS Keychain and can sit behind Face ID. They are not copied to us, because there is no “us” in the path — the music travels between your phone and your server.

For the tunnel, the flight, the dead spot.

Download a track, an album, or a whole playlist to the device and Auden plays it with the server switched off entirely. When the connection drops mid-listen, it says so and keeps playing from what you already have.

Downloads sit in the app’s own storage, protected by your device passcode, and the app shows you exactly how much space they take before you run out of it.

What Auden will cost

Auden will be a free download on the App Store. Playing your own library is the free app: browsing, search, streaming, the queue, playlists, and up to 25 offline downloads, with no account and no advertising.

Auden Pro is one optional in-app purchase, bought once. It is not a subscription and it does not renew. It lifts the download limit, adds playlist download sync, and lets you save more than one server. Every install starts with seven days of Pro switched on, so you can decide after using it rather than before. Coming soon on the App Store; the final terms will be published before anyone is asked to pay.

Questions about the product go to the studio, where the person building it reads them. Setup questions belong on the support page.

When it ships

Free to download. One optional purchase. No subscription.
